The Application forms for National Eligibility and Entrance Tests (NEET) are expected to be released soon. As per sources, the application forms would be available on the official website of by the end of December or from January 3. NEET would be conducted by CBSE for selection of students applying to various seats across all the states of India. The only exception is the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Apart from these three states, all the admissions to different medical seats across the country would be done on the basis of the NEET 2017 score for the academic session of 2017-18. The last notification suggested that the NEET Exam would be conducted in 8 languages.

Students interested in applying to medical colleges – both state and private medical colleges are required to fill the NEET Application Form 2017. Official notification is still awaited for the release of the application form and in all probability it is expected to be released by end of this month. An official commented that CBSE is waiting for JEE Mains applications to end before rolling out application forms for the NEET examinations. The same source also confirmed that the application form for NEET UG 2017 exam would be online and might require an Aadhaar Card number. CBSE had recently released a notification making Aadhaar Card mandatory for JEE Mains 2017 registrations. Following the same pattern, it is very likely that Aadhaar Card would be mandatory for the NEET 2017 Examination as well.

The examinations were delayed last year due to the many concerns raised and the impending ruling of the Supreme Court. However, as per the ruling by the apex court, NEET would be the only examination that would decide the admission to MBBS and BDS courses across the country at UG Level and MD, MDS and MS courses at PG Level. The only exemption is the admission to AIIMS Institutes across the country and admission to JIPMER Colleges. As of now, the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu Kashmir are also not covered under the ambit of NEET. The exams are tentatively scheduled to be conducted in the month of May, 2017 for admission to MBBS and BDS courses. The application forms would be released soon on the official website of NEET

AFMC to accept NEET Score for Admissions from 2017

The students who have cleared their Class XII Board or equivalent examinations as well as are appearing for their certificate examinations this year can write the examination. Detailed notification would also release the exam pattern, age limit and other restrictions like number of attempts allowed by each candidate. As of now there is no confirmation about a minimum pass percentage requirement for students applying for NEET. What is confirmed, however, is that this year only one examination would be conducted. Candidates would remember that last year NEET II was also conducted following a Supreme Court Order. The counseling for the same had finally concluded by the month of October 2016. Students are warned to be wary of following the false notifications that might be released on these websites. The official notification would also be made available here as and when it is released.
