NIA Conducts Raids Across Jammu In Crackdown Against Pak-Backed Hybrid Terrorists, OGWs

NIA sleuths conducted extensive searches at six locations in Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar districts of  Jammu province in connection with a case related to a terror conspiracy by banned terrorist organisations.

Jammu and Kashmir News: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) Saturday conducted raids across the Jammu province as it escalated its crackdown against Pakistan-backed offshoots of banned terrorist outfits who are conspiring to revive terrorism in the region, officials said.

As per an official statement, NIA sleuths conducted extensive searches at six locations in Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar districts of  Jammu province in connection with a case related to the conspiracy by banned terrorist organisations and their offshoots to carry out terror attacks with sticky bombs, IEDs and small arms etc. in Jammu and Kashmir.

During searches, the NIA teams seized incriminating material, including digital devices, documents etc. from premises linked to hybrid terrorists, overground workers (OGWs), sympathisers and cadres linked with the newly-formed offshoots and affiliates of proscribed terrorist outfits, the anti-terror agency said.

The NIA statement said the banned terror outfits, including Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al-Badr, Al-Qaeda, along with their newly-formed offshoots, are plotting to carry out terror attacks in the erstwhile state.

In June 2022, the NIA had registered a suo moto case to dismantle the terror network operated by these outfits as well as their newly launched offshoots such as The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (ULFJ&K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, PAAF and others, it added.

As part of its investigations into the case, the NIA has been cracking down on various locations in recent months.

“Today’s searches were aimed at dismantling the terror network in Jammu province and scuttling the plans of the banned terrorist organisations to disturb the peace and communal harmony in J&K by radicalising local youth and mobilising overground workers,” the statement said.
