Men riding a BMW car, chased and attacked a woman and her family during a late night road rage incident in Greater Noida. The incident was captured on the victim's dashcam.

Greater Noida News: A woman and her family had a narrow escape after a group of men riding a BMW car, chased and attacked them at late night on an empty road in Greater Noida of the National Capital Region (NCR).

Luckily, the incident was captured on the dashcam of the victim’s car, enabling the Uttar Pradesh Police to track down the attackers, arrest them and seize their vehicle.

As per reports, the purported road rage incident occurred on the night of May 2, showing the attackers chasing the family and overtaking their car. The assailants then step out of their BMW and hurl bottles at the victims’ car, and taunting them to step out, the video shows.

The dashcam shows the victims’ car reversing in speed to escape from the attackers even as its horrified occupants, including women, tried calling up the police but to no avail.

The clip of the family’s late night nightmarish ordeal has gone viral on social media, sparking questions from netizens about the law and order and the safety of citizens in Greater Noida.

Police said Monday the episode took place in in front of the IFS Villa, under the Knowledge Park police station area, on the night of May 2, adding two suspects involved in the road rage incident have been arrested.

“The car of the woman and the accused came into slight contact with each other and there was an altercation between the two parties. A bottle was thrown on the woman’s car by the accused,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Ashok Kumar Sharma said.

“The victim had refused to take any legal action in the case. Taking suo motu cognizance of the incident, the Knowledge Park police station has taken necessary action by examining CCTV footage etc. and further action is being taken under the Goonda Act,” Sharma said.

Later, in a statement issued on Monday night, the UP Police said two suspects involved in the road rage case have been arrested and their BMW car has also been impounded.

“The police arrested the bullies who chased the women in the car in just two hours, after the video went viral on social media. The BMW car was also recovered. The arrest has been made by officials of the Knowledge Park police station,” the UP Police said.
