New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘One Nation One Card’ recently. Here’s more on how to get the card and what benefits one can avail of with it.

First up, you can pay for all types of public transport if you have the card, apart from other services. The added benefits are that it is National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) compliant and powered by RuPay card payment scheme by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

One Nation One Card is similar to any RuPay debit or credit card issued by your bank and can be issued in the form of a debit, credit or prepaid card of a partner bank.

Along with being a regular debit or credit card, the RuPay One Nation One Card is a contactless card, making it very similar to a Metro rail smart card.

To get a RuPay Contactless Card with National Common Mobility Card support, one would just need to contact one’s bank. It is available with over 25 banks like SBI and PNB.

It can also be issued from Paytm Payments Bank. You can use the card for shopping apart from being able to pay directly on transport like buses and Metro. It can also be used to pay for parking and tolls.

The initiative has reportedly been supported by indigenously developed Automatic Fare Collection Gate ‘Swagat’ and an Open Loop Automatic Fare Collection System called ‘Sweekar’. With this card, one can avail 5% cashback at ATMs and 10% cashback at merchant outlets when one travels abroad.
