Pondicherry Lok Sabha Elections: This Lok Sabha constituency covers the entire union territory of Pondicherry. The 18th Lok Sabha election of the country will see whether Narendra Modi will return for a consecutive third term or the INDIA-alliance will be able to remove him from power. The Exit Poll predicted that the Modi wave will take over the country again. It remains to be seen what happens after the results are declared on June 4.

Pondicherry Lok Sabha Election Result

The Indian National Congress will take on the Bharatiya Janata Party in the seat. V.Vaithilingam from INC and A Namassivayam from BJP will fight for the seat. In 2019 polls, Vathilingam won the seat with 444981 votes. AINRC candidate Narayanasamy Kesavan was the runner-up with 247956 votes.

The total voter turnout for the lone Puducherry Lok Sabha seat stood at 78. 80 % as per data revealed on April 20, a day after polling. As a percentage of all voters in the Union Territory, women outnumber males. According to survey data, the polling percentage for female voters was 78.78, while the polling % for male voters was 78.33.

BJP’s Campaign in the UT was led by Chief Minister and AINRC founder N. Rangasamy. He started his campaign in a semi-open van along with Mr Namassiavayam from the Mettupalayam signal and wound up the public campaign at Kadirgamam.
