Ghaziabad (UP), May 10 (PTI) District administration would distribute Rs 422 crore as compensation to Ghaziabad farmers whose land had been acquired by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the construction of three highways.
District Magistrate Minishti S said the land was acquired for Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Dedicated Freight Corridor and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
She assured that compensation amount of Rs 422 crore will be paid by the end of this month.
Rs 26 crores have already been credited to the bank accounts of the farmers through Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), she said in a press conference at the collectorate here.
