Hyderabad: Huzurnagar assembly belongs to the Nalgonda parliamentary area. This seat was first elected in 1957. According to the 2011 census, the total population here is 3,02,725. The entire population lives in villages. The SC population is 16.98% and the ST population is 13.97%.

In 2014 election results, Uttam Kumar Reddy of Congress had defeated Shankar Amma of TRS with 23,924 votes. Uttam Kumar Reddy also won the election in 2009.

Uttam Kumar Reddy got 39.10 per cent and Shankar Rama got 25.70 per cent votes. A total of 81.50 percent of the voters voted. Uttam Kumar Reddy got 69,879 and Shankar Rama got 45,955 votes. A total of 1,79,438 voters used the franchise.

The number of voters here is 2,20,141. The number of male voters in them is 1,09,436. The number of female voters is 1,10,698.

On the recommendation of CM Chandrasekhar Rao, the Assembly was dissolved on September 6, 2018. Elections are being held in Telangana as well as in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. Elections are going to be held on December 7 in Rajasthan with Telangana.

In one phase in Telangana, on December 7, 2018, votes will be cast for the assembly elections. The counting will take place on December 11.
