New Delhi, June 24: The Gujarat police on Saturday said that the Vadodara murder suspect, a Class X student confessed to killing his junior, who had taken admission a few days back. The accused had planned the murder after being scolded by teachers for not bringing his homework. He wanted the administration to close the school. “They were given homework, accused was scolded as he didn’t bring his. Then he decided to do something to close the school. So he did this. His parents say he’s violent in nature,” said RS Bhagora, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vadodara. As per a report of Hindustan Times, the police have also retrieved the footage from CCTV camera which showed that the entire incident occurred within 90 seconds. “The victim’s body bore as many as 31 small and big stab wounds,” a forensic test report revealed.
Earlier on Saturday, the Gujarat police had arrested the 15-year-old Class X student and had recovered a school bag with three big knives and a bottle filled with red chilli solution. Commissioner of police Manoj Shashidhar had said that four students of the school who were present at the incident spot had witnessed the accused stabbing the Class IX student.
About the case:
The body of the 14-year-old Class IX student was found with multiple stab wounds in the school washroom on Friday. The case is reminiscent of the murder of Prince who was found with his throat slit outside the washroom of his school in Gurugram, near Delhi. The murder had evoked national outrage, more so, because the investigations continued to reveal the loopholes in the security at the school. Initially, the police had arrested the driver of a school bus, charging him with the child’s murder when the latter resisted sexual assault. But the CBI rubbished the theory and arrested a 16-year-old boy of the same school. The teen is awaiting trial after Juvenile Justice Board decided that he would be treated as an adult.
