Vande Bharat Trains: In a major development that promises to boost Uttar Pradesh‘s rail connectivity, the Indian Railways is mulling introducing Vande Bharat trains on three additional routes from Lucknow. This will offer a daily convenience to 3,200 passengers. According to the reports, these trains will operate on the Jammu, Jaipur, and Bhopal routes. The Northern and Northeast Railway authorities are working relentlessly to enhance the infrastructure.

The Ganga Bridge on the Kanpur route is undergoing repairs after 29 years, while efforts to upgrade the Gorakhpur route are also in progress. Additionally, track speeds are being increased, with trains now reaching speeds of 130 km/h, up from the previous 80-100 km/h.

Preparations are also at full swing to introduce Vande Bharat trains from Lucknow’s Charbagh Railway Station to Jammu and from Gomtinagar Station to Bhopal and Jaipur. Northeast Railway DRM Gaurav Agarwal stated that the Railway Board’s approval is awaited for the Gomtinagar-Bhopal route. All three services are expected to commence within the next three months.

According to the reports, the automatic block signaling work is currently underway on the Gorakhpur railway section of the Northeast Railway Lucknow Division. The train services on March 29 and 30 will be affected. The train numbers 15031/32 (Lucknow Junction-Gorakhpur-Lucknow Express) and 65115/16 (Bhatni-Ayodhya Dham Junction) have been cancelled.

Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northeast Railway, informed that several trains will also experience route changes. The following trains will operate via alternate routes on March 28:

– 15708 Amritsar-Katihar Express
– 20103 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Gorakhpur
– 13020 Kathgodam-Howrah Express
– 02564 New Delhi-Barauni
– 14617 Purnia Court-Amritsar
– 12556 Bathinda-Gorakhpur Express
