1 killed, several injured in varna mountain car race crash
Varna Mountain Car Race Crash: In a tragic incident, a spectator died and eight others sustained injuries in a car crash that took place during the mountain climbing car race on Sunday evening (local time) near the Aladzha Monastery in Varna.
As per reports, the person in the audience lost his life when a racing car hit him after the driver failed to make a turn and went over the guardrail. A 27-year-old woman is in the Intensive Care Unit and is fighting for her life. Another 39-year-old man is also admitted to the hospital with a fractured ankle.
According to Director of the race Slavi Slavov, victims were standing off-limits to the public, highlighting that there was a warning sign placed in the area where the accident took place.
The car’s driver was unharmed and willingly provided a blood sample to confirm whether he had consumed alcohol or drugs before driving.
