Kabul: A military helicopter with 20 people, Farah provincial council members and Zafar Military Corps officials, on board crashed in Anar Dana district of Farah province on Wednesday. 207 Zafar Military Corps spokesman Najibullah Najibi, as quoted by the local media, informed that none survived in the accident. Ministry sources have reportedly confirmed that Head of Farah Provincial Council Farid Bakhtawar, Council Member Jamila Amini, Deputy Commander of Western Military Corps Nematullah Khalil are among the dead. Spokesman for the ground forces unit of the corps Noorulhaq Khaliqi mentioned that head of Farah Provincial Council Farid Bakhtawar was on board during the time of the crash along with Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the 207 Zafar Military Corps Nematullah Khalil and a member of the provincial council, Jamila Amini.
The cause of the crash is yet to be ascertained.
