New Delhi: After a major campaign against Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, Israel has now opened a front against another Muslim country. The Israeli Air Force has intensified its attacks in Syria, which is the stronghold of Iran and its proxy extremist organizations.

Israel calls them Iranian octopuses, which are encircling the Jewish country from all sides. Israeli media reports suggest that these attacks have increased in recent days. For the second consecutive day on Friday, November 15, Israel attacked Mezzeh in Syria’s capital Damascus.

Earlier on Thursday, November 14, Israeli forces attacked Mezzeh and Qudsaya, killing 15 people. According to a Reuters report, these areas of Damascus were previously inhabited by Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters. They are now used by representatives of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah.

Israel said it targeted military positions and the headquarters of Islamic Jihad on Thursday. However, it has not yet commented on Friday’s attack. Israel is targeting the leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Tehran’s proxy extremist groups in these attacks.

The IDF announced a day earlier that it had attacked a Syrian crossing on the Syria-Lebanese border. This crossing was used to send weapons to Hezbollah. The IDF reported that the attack on the crossing damaged the capacity of Hezbollah’s Unit 4400.

Hezbollah’s Unit 4400 is responsible for supplying weapons from Iran to Syria and then to Lebanon, which Hezbollah uses in military operations against the Israeli military and the Home Front. The attack came 10 days after Israeli forces attacked properties linked to Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters in Damascus.
