Singapore, Dec 28: An AirAsia flight with 162 people aboard reportedly gone missing this morning after takeoff from Indonesia on the way to Singapore. The flight from Surabaya to Singapore was to land at 8.30 am local time. An official said that the plane had asked for an unusual route before losing contact. The passengers include 138 adults, 16 children and one baby, and seven crew. Also Read - Singapore Govt Increases Stake in ICICI Bank
The airline shared the updates on its Facebook page.
“AirAsia Indonesia regrets to confirm that flight QZ8501 from Surabaya to Singapore has lost contact with air traffic control at 07:24hrs this morning,” AirAsia said.
“At the present time we unfortunately have no further information regarding the status of the passengers and crew members on board, but we will keep all parties informed as more information becomes available.”
