Tehran: Iran, which is engaged in an almost direct confrontation with Israel, is working day and night to enhance its military capabilities since Israel possesses some of the best weaponry in the world, much thanks to the USA.
According to the German report, Iran has recently received the delivery of Su-35 fighters from Russia. The aircraft landed separately at Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport on an Antonov AN-124-100 military cargo aircraft.
After arriving in Tehran, the parts of these aircraft were unloaded at the Third Technical Airbase near the city of Hamadan for further transfer. This is where these aircraft will be reassembled. This process will be the first step in getting the aircraft ready for operational deployment.
The Iranian Air Force plans to replace its old fleet of American F-14A Tomcat stationed in Isfahan with Russian Su-35 fighters. For this, Iran had ordered 25 aircraft from Russia, which has now been increased to 50.
The deployment of these aircraft will increase the capacity of the Iranian Air Force tremendously. With the help of these aircraft, the Iranian Air Force can not only protect its airspace but also deal with threats emanating from Israel. In such a situation, it is a given that the hi-tech Su-35 fighter aircraft of the Iranian Air Force will give sleepless nights to Israel.
The Iranian Air Force has for long struggled with a shortage of fighter aircraft. The fighter aircraft currently in the possession of the Iranian Air Force are of American origin. These aircraft were purchased during the regime of Shah Pahlavi in Iran. The United Nations and the United States had imposed tough military sanctions on Iran. The UN ban ended a few years ago. In such a situation, Iran is now buying large quantities of weapons from friendly countries like Russia and China.
