Maryland, Aug. 18: Superhero Batman died in a crash after his famous Batmobile broke down on a highway. Shocked? Don’t worry we are not talking about the Batman character or actor Christian Bale. A man from Maryland who used to dress up like Batman to visit sick children in hospitals was killed in a roadside crash after his Batmobile broke down.
Lenny B Robinson, popularly known as the Route 29 Batman was driving his black Lamborghini with Batman plates. He was returning from a car show in West Virginia. According to the reports, Robinson got out of his car when he noticed some engine problem. Meanwhile he was checking the car, a vehicle struck the Lamborghini. The Batmobile then hit Robinson, killing him. Robinson used to don his Batman costume to visit sick children in hospitals. “I’m just doing it for the kids,” Robinson told the Washington Post when asked about his visit to hospitals in Batman costume. “It feels like I have a responsibility that’s beyond a normal person. And that responsibility is to be there for the kids, to be strong for them, and to make them smile as much as I can,” he added.
Robinson became famous on the internet in 2012 when police pulled over his Batmobile in Silver Spring for displaying a Batman insignia instead of a license plate. (Photo credit: abc news)
