Paris, Dec 6: Bernard Cazeneuve has been named the new Prime Minister of France for the next six months until the next legislative elections are held, after Manuel Valls resigned on Tuesday morning, serving as PM for two and a half years. Vells announced that he is eyeing to become the next president of France and will name his government later.
The 53 year old Cazeneuve is one of the most trusted men of Francis Hollande’s and became a popular figure in French politics in 2012 after being named spokesmen of government.
In 2014, Cazeneuve was appointed as an interior minister and had to supervise the response to a series of attacks (which includes Paris attacks) that have claimed more than 200 lives of French citizens since January 2015.
Cazeneuve is a lawyer by profession and has been an MP since 1997.
