Dallas Shooting: In yet another shooting incident in the United States’ Dallas, a 27-year-old Indian student has reportedly been shot dead on Friday night (local time). The incident took place when an unidentified gunman shot at the victim, who was working at a petrol pump, killing him on the spot. The victim has been identified as Chandrashekar Pole, who hailed from Hyderabad.
After finishing his bachelor’s degree in dental surgery, Chandrashekar moved to the US in 2023 to pursue higher studies. As per initial reports, Chandrashekar finished his master’s degree six months ago and was searching for a job while working part-time at the petrol pump in Dallas.
The 27-year-old student’s family is seeking the government’s assistance in bringing back Chandrashekar’s body home from Dallas.
After getting the information about the shooting incident, BRS MLA Sudhir Reddy and former minister T Harish Rao visited Chandrashekar home in Hyderabad and met his family members. He has requested the central government to take necessary steps to bring back the student’s body to his hometown.
Rao took to X and wrote, “The pain that the parents are going through, knowing that their son, who they believed would reach great heights, is no more, is heart-wrenching to witness. We, on behalf of BRS, demand that the state government take initiative and make efforts to bring Chandra Shekhar’s mortal remains to his hometown as quickly as possible.”
As per Denton Police, the victim student was employed at a petrol pump in his spare time when the shooting occurred. During the holdup, robbers opened fire at the petrol pump, leaving Chandrashekar fatally injured. Authorities are completing the formalities for the repatriation of 27-year-old’s body to his hometown.
