New Delhi: United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Friday stated that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the British PM said that he has developed mild symptoms and tested positive for the deadly virus, which has claimed more than 21,000 lives globally. “Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus. I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus. Together we will beat this. Stay home, save lives,” he said in a tweet. Earlier, a 10 Downing Street spokesman had said that Johnson’s “symptoms are mild and he will continue to lead the government response to the virus while he self-isolates.”

So far, Coronavirus has infected over 5 lakh people and killed over 21,000 globally.
