New Delhi: The Israeli military, on Friday, 10 October 2025, started pulling its troops back behind the line agreed under the Gaza Peace Deal, following which the displaced families from the southern parts of Gaza have started to move to the enclave to the north, according to Al Jazeera, whose team is reporting from the ground.
The Israeli government had earlier approved the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, according to which the hostages and the prisoners from both sides will be exchanged and Israel will withdraw its troops from parts of Gaza. However, the details of how the ceasefire will unfold to bring lasting peace are yet unknown.
Head of Hamas’s negotiating team Khalil al-Hayya has said that the group has received guarantees from the United States and mediators that an agreement on a first phase of the ceasefire agreement means the war in Gaza “has ended completely”, says Al Jazeera.
