Taiwan (China): At least 17 people were killed and over 100 injured after an express train derailed in Taiwan city of China on Sunday, railway administration said. The Puyuma express train, according to the reports, was travelling to Taiwan’s southeast coast when it went off the tracks.
The high-speed Puyuma Express, which was carrying around 300 passengers, came off the tracks and overturned at around 4.50 p.m. local time in Yilan County, Efe news reported.
The 17 people died of cardiac arrest, as per the reports. All the injured were taken to a nearby local hospital. The cause of the derailment has not been ascertained yet.
