China-Turkey relations: In a recent turn of events impacting China-Turkey relations, Turkey’s National Intelligence Academy, established under the National Intelligence Organization (Milli İstihbarat Teşkilatı or MIT), has raised serious concerns with the government of President Erdogan. Initially focused on intelligence gathering, MIT is now actively shaping geopolitical strategies. The much-talked about report released on February 21 highlighted China’s growing influence as a significant challenge to Turkey’s foreign policy. It also advised Ankara to maintain a careful balance between Washington and Beijing.
Moreover, the report specifically identifies China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as a strategic maneuver rather than a developmental project. It has argues that China’s mediation between Saudi Arabia and Iran, as well as its stance on Palestine, is not aimed at regional stability but rather serves China’s own interests. It has gone on to warn that China’s expanding reach in Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East could undermine Turkey’s strategic position.

Turkey condemns Israel for blocking aid into Gaza Ankara
Turkey condemned Israel’s recent decision to halt the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, calling it a violation of international law and a threat to ongoing ceasefire efforts. In a statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Monday denounced the move as a deliberate act of collective punishment against the Palestinian people and a blatant violation of international law, Xinhua news agency reported. Turkey also warned that such actions could jeopardise diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a lasting ceasefire in Gaza.
