New Delhi: Indian Railways has undergone significant transformation over the last 20 years. Several high-speed trains such as the Vande Bharat Express, Rajdhani Express, Tejas Express, and Shatabdi Express have been introduced, effectively reducing travel time between states. The speed of high-speed trains running in India ranges from 130 to 180 kilometers per hour. However, there are many trains around the world that are much faster than those currently operating in India.
China Railway has recently tested the CR450 high-speed train. According to the reports, the speed of this train ranges from 400 to 450 kilometers per hour. The Dragons have claimed that it is the fastest train in the world.
According to China Railway, they successfully conducted the trial of the fastest, safest, and eco-friendly high-speed train in eastern China’s Fujian province. The train ran from Fuzhou to Quanzhou at a speed of 450 km/h. This high-speed train from China will cut travel time in half.
The supersonic speed of the train can be understood with the fact that if it were to run in India, it would have taken only 3 hours for the train to travel from Delhi to Mumbai. It is important to note that this is not the first time China has conducted a high-speed trial.
To recall, China had earlier tested an ultra-high-speed maglev train running in a low-vacuum pipeline. For your information, maglev trains are already operational in Japan.
The world’s third fastest train is the TGV. This high-speed train was built by the French company Alstom. The speed of this train is 575 kilometers per hour. Gradually, the network of high-speed train routes is being expanded.
