On 9 May 2025, the IMF approved a $2.4 billion package for Pakistan, which included $1 billion from the existing Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and $1.4 billion from the new Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF). This package was to address Pakistan’s economic stability and climate challenges.

Promotion of internal political unity and nationalism

After Operation Sindoor, Pakistani leaders, especially Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Information Minister Ataullah Tarar, called the Indian attacks an attack on sovereignty.
