New Delhi: US presidential elections are just two weeks away and both candidates are leaving no stone unturned to draw the mandate in their favour. A few surveys and opinions are predicting a certain outcome even as the needle seems to be pointing from one to the other.

In the new poll, the Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris has gained a slight lead over Republican candidate Donald Trump. This brings optimism for the Harris camp given the time left for the final call. Even slightly, this lead indicates the mood of American voters as is Just before the election, this increase of Harris indicates the changing mood of American voters.

According to a poll conducted by news agency Reuters, Kamala Harris is seen getting 45% of the votes while Donald Trump is seen getting 42% of the votes. In this way, Harris has gained a slight lead of 3 per cent over Trump. This survey ended on Sunday, October 20, so it is considered to be the closest poll survey. It is estimated that voters are very enthusiastic about Kamala Harris. Harris is targeting Trump from all corners and calling him “a threat to democracy”. This rhetoric seems to be working for the vice president.

A day earlier in Pennsylvania, Harris charged that Trump is not serious at all and he often talks nonsense. “If such a person becomes the President of America, then it will have very serious consequences”. Pennsylvania is one of the seven major states that have played a crucial role in changing the course of the election in the past. However, Trump always refutes the charges and claims that people like Kamala Harris are a threat to American democracy. “It is because of people like her (Harris) that there is a war in the Middle East, the Russia-Ukraine crisis is deepening, and these people have not been able to do anything despite being in power,” said the former president.

However, the opinion of the speculative market is completely different. Trump’s victory is being shown on America’s major betting portal where he has secured 7 per cent more votes than Harris. According to this report, this is the first time since July that Trump is leading. But the new Reuters survey completely refutes the claims of the betting market.

The elections for the President of the United States are to be held on November 5.
