Washington: US President Donald Trump has urged Jordan, Egypt and other Arab countries to accommodate more Palestinian refugees on their land who are fleeing the Gaza Strip. Trump has proposed a new start by almost completely vacating the war-torn region of Gaza. He also lifted Joe Biden’s ban on sending 2,000-pound bombs to Israel. The moratorium was imposed to reduce civilian deaths in Gaza.

According to the AP report, Donald Trump spoke to the King of Jordan and the President of Egypt on Saturday, January 26, after the ceasefire came into force in Gaza. He sought the leadership of both countries to support the rehabilitation of Palestinian refugees. Describing Gaza as a “site of destruction”, he suggested building accommodation in a new location with Arab countries to establish peace in the region.

Does Trump want an empty Gaza?

Speaking on Gaza, Donald Trump spoke of potentially relocating so much population that the war-torn region could be ‘cleaned’ and a new beginning could be made. “I spoke to King Abdullah II of Jordan and also spoke to President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt. I want Egypt to accept more people. ‘

Trump said that Gaza was really like a site of destruction. Everything has collapsed, people are dying there. So I would love to join some Arab countries and make their habitat in a different place, where they can probably live in peace with the change. There was no immediate comment from the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
