New Delhi: Russia and Ukraine are engaged in a war since February 2022 and both the sides are conducting large-scale testing of new weapons in the battlefield. The USA has given Ukraine F-16 fighter jets while Russia has SU-35 fighter jets.

Let’s find out which of the two is more powerful?

Russia’s SU-35 has more range and payload capacity than the F-16. SU-35 has better radar and manoeuvrability system. However, the ability of the pilot is also important in this.

The F-16 has a wingspan of 10 meters while the wingspan of the SU-35 is 15 meters. The height of the F-16 is 16 feet, while the height of the Russian SU-35 is 19.4 feet.

The weight of an empty F-16 is 8935 kg. At the same time, the weight of SU-35 is 19000 kg. Both the F-16 and the SU-35 have a top speed of around 2400 km/h. The F-16 can fight at a range of up to 925 km while Sukhoi’s range is 2400 km.

Russia has better pilots. Though Ukrainian pilots have been trained to fly the F-16 but early failures during training are worry-provoking. On the other hand, Russian pilots have more experience, which makes them better in combat.

The first F-16 fighter jet arrived in Ukraine months ago. They have been used to eliminate Russian cruise missiles and drones. But it takes months of training to fly it. In such a situation, it may be difficult for Ukrainian pilots to use them right now.

An F-16 aircraft has already crashed in Ukraine. According to reports, the reason for the crash was the lack of training of Ukrainian pilots. This inexperience of the Ukrainian pilots gives Russian pilots an edge.
