The Saudi Arabian government has issued guidelines regarding in which cases the amount of Hajj reservation can be refunded. If someone meets with an accident or dies before Hajj, then the amount will be refunded in such cases. This year the Hajj pilgrimage will begin in the month of June, in which millions of Muslims from all over the world go to Mecca for Hajj.
According to Gulf News, Saudi Arabia has announced to refund the amount of Hajj in some cases. It was said that if a Hajj pilgrim dies before the journey or meets with a traffic accident due to which he is unable to perform Hajj, then the entire refund of the reservation will be given to the wife of the pilgrim. Also, if any Hajj pilgrim (male/female) becomes a victim of an accident, after which it is difficult for them to go on Hajj, then they will be given a refund. However, this announcement is for Saudi Hajj pilgrims.
The Saudi government also says that in any such case, a medical report must be presented. This report must be from a government hospital, which is proof of hospitalization and that the patient is not able to travel. If the report is from a private hospital, then that hospital must be certified by the health authorities and the reports must be in Arabic language.
The government has said that if anyone wants to cancel their reservation for Hajj, they will have to go to the website. This process can be done on the website that the Saudi government has created for Hajj pilgrimage reservations or on the Nusuk app, through which they will get a refund.
Last month, Saudi Arabia also said that priority would be given to those who have not performed Hajj before in domestic Hajj reservations, but this does not include those who had accompanied Hajj pilgrims as escorts or protectors in previous journeys. Domestic Hajj reservations are for Saudi citizens. However, it is necessary for them that their national card or residency permit should be valid till the 10th of the month of Dhul-Hijjah of the Islamic calendar.
Every year the Hajj pilgrimage begins on the seventh day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah. On this day, the pilgrims reach the city of Mecca and wear Ihram (wrap white cloth around the body). Then they perform Tawaf (circumambulation) around the Kaaba and circle seven times between two hills named Safa and Marwa. After this, they offer Namaz in Mina, 8 km away from Mecca.
On the second day, the pilgrims go to Mount Arafat and ask Allah for forgiveness for their sins. Then they gather in the plains of Muzdalifa and stay there for one night. On the third day, they go to Mina to throw stones at Jamarat. Jamarat is a structure of three stones, which is considered a symbol of the sacrifice of Satan and animals. After this, the pilgrims return to Jamarat after performing Tawaf and Sa’i in Mecca. On the last day of Hajj, Eid-al-Azha i.e. Bakrid is celebrated all over the world.
