Hamas has agreed to hand over the Gaza Strip of Palestine to the Palestinian Authority (PA). This claim has been made in a report by Sky News Arabia. PA is the internationally recognized Palestinian government. It partially rules the West Bank under the 1993 Oslo Accords. West Bank and Gaza are two Palestinian territories that form the proposed Palestine State. Gaza has been ruled by Hamas for a long time. Hamas has also fought a fierce war with Israel in Gaza for more than a year. Currently, a ceasefire is in force in Gaza.

Sky News Arabia quoted sources as saying that Hamas has expressed its desire to hand over the governance of Gaza to the PA after pressure from Egypt. Hamas has been controlling Gaza since 2007. In the Palestinian civil war, Hamas took control of Gaza after driving out its rival group Fatah from Gaza. Fatah runs the PA and dominates the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
