New Delhi: Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s wife Sophie Trudeau has tested positive for coronavirus on Friday. On Thursday, the PM went on self-isolation and worked from home as Sophie developed flu-like symptoms. Sophie was in London for a speaking engagement. On March 4, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau spoke at the WE UK Day conference in London, according to the organization’s website. According to reports, the Prime Minister so far didn’t exhibit symptoms.
The PM already cancelled a meeting with Canada’s provincial and territorial leaders in Ottawa. But he was supposed to speak with them over the phone.
Canada has so far reported more than 100 cases in six provinces, and one death.
Thanking everyone who asked her how she was doing, she said, “Although I’m experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of the virus, I will be back on my feet soon. Being in quarantine at home is nothing compared to other Canadian families who might be going through this and for those facing more serious health concerns,” she wrote.
