New Delhi: In June this year, Israel and America launched attacks on Iran. While Israel’s attacks were sudden, the American attacks involved planning and were executed by B-2 bombers to destroy Iran’s three nuclear plants. Israel mainly targeted military installations and assassinated some of the country’s prominent military leaders and nuclear scientists.

India strongly condemns attacks on Iran by Israel and America in June

Now, at the ongoing Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, China, the SCO countries have strongly condemned the military attacks on Iran by Israel and America in June this year in their declaration. India is also among the countries that signed the statement condemning America and Israel. What is most significant is that India did not sign the statement issued by the SCO in June, just after the attacks, in which the attack was condemned.

India had distanced itself from the statement of the SCO in June, in which Israel’s attack on Iran was condemned. India’s neutrality in the SCO statement was linked to Delhi’s growing closeness with Israel. However, now India has strongly supported the condemnation of Israel and America for the attack on Iran.

India’s clear message to Trump

Experts are looking at the SCO declaration in connection with the tension in India-US relations after Trump’s tariff announcement. India has tried to send a strong message to America and its special ally, Israel. Trump is constantly showing a tough stance on India. In such a situation, India has silently expressed that it can go against Washington, DC on global forums.

Strong condemnation of Pahalgam terrorist attack and global terrorism

After the SCO meeting, the joint declaration of all member countries also strongly condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The declaration said that all member countries offer their deepest condolences to the families of the dead and injured. The culprits and those who helped in such terrorist attacks should be brought to justice.

The member countries of the SCO said in their declaration that they are committed to the fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism. The member countries said that they recognise the role of countries and their competent authorities in combating the threat of terrorism. This declaration, which came in the presence of Pakistan, is being considered a big victory for India.
