Indian embassy in Iran advised nationals to avoid unnecessary movements and remain indoors.

Tel Aviv: Israel on Saturday carried out airstrikes on several cities in Iran, including Tehran, amid the Middle Eastern country's escalating tensions with the United States over its nuclear program. Some of the strikes in Tehran struck near the offices of the Middle Eastern country's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. According to state television, an explosion was heard in the area surrounding the supreme leader's offices. However, it is not clear whether the 86-year-old leader was present at the offices at the time of the strikes. The Indian embassy in Iran has issued an advisory for its citizens and requested them to exercise caution and avoid going outdoors.

Indian Nationals In Iran Warned In Advisory

The Indian Embassy in Iran took to X and wrote, "all Indian nationals in Iran are advised to exercise utmost caution, avoid unnecessary movements and remain indoors as far as possible."

The embassy also suggested the Indian nationals living in different parts of the Middle East Country to monitor the local news and stay aware of the happenings. It also said to citizens to wait for any further notifications.

As per the latest reports, several explosions were heard in Iran's capital. Iran has confirmed the attack and shut its airspace down. The strikes came after tensions between Iran and the United States over Tehran's nuclear program had escalated.

"Proactive alert to prepare the public for the possibility of missiles being launched toward the state of Israel," the Israeli military said.

US Confirms Involvement

It is worth mentioning that the advisory came after Tel Aviv launched a pre-emptive military strike against Iran today. President Donald Trump also confirmed that US forces are also involved in the strikes.

"The objective to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats," Trump said.

According to reports, Israel targeted Iran's military, government and intelligence structures. Israel also closed its airspace after its attack on Iran. "proactive alert to prepare the public for the possibility of missiles being launched toward the state of Israel," the Israeli military reportedly said.

India Issued Advisory For Its Nationals In Israel

Earlier today, the Indian embassy in Tel Aviv issued an advisory for its citizens living in Israel, requesting them to exercise "utmost caution and remain vigilant at all times".

The embassy, in its advisory, requested citizens to follow all guidelines issued by the Israeli authorities. It also advised Indian nationals to avoid non-essential travel within Israel until further notice, and to follow local news updates.
