The third man was identified as Ian Grillot.

Five hours after the shooting, Purinton was in a bar around 140 kms away in Clinton, Missouri and told a barman that he killed two men from the Middle East and wanted a place to hide. Upon hearing this the barman called the police. The police then spoke to Adam over the phone and convinced him to surrender.
