Miami, June 12: A shooting erupted at a nightclub in downtown Orlando, Florida early today, leaving “multiple injuries,” police said. The attacker has reportedly taken hostages. Florida Police has described it as an “active shooting” with more number of security personnel reaching the spot to control the situation. As of now, no casualties has been reported. However, a number of people have been shot dead. “There are injuries. I am not sure if there are any deceased at this time,” a police dispatcher told AFP, describing it as an ongoing operation. “Officers are going in to search the building and to get people out,” the dispatcher added. The shooting occurred at the Pulse nightclub, police confirmed. “Multiple injuries. Stay away from the area,” the police department posted on their official Twitter account.
Users who escaped from the Pulse nightclub have uploaded videos on Twitter. They have confirmed that the shooting was going on. Passerbys also claimed that they heard shooting sound.
