London, June 4: Nine including three suspects were killed in twin London terror attacks that stunned the capital on Saturday night. The horrifying terror attacks took place in the city of London – at London Bridge and Borough market – where the areas are packed with bars and restaurants turned into a scene of panic and chaos. Meanwhile, the London police has termed the incidents as a terrorist attack and has asked all Londoners and visitors to remain calm and vigilant.

According to reports, the London ambulance service has been quoted as saying that 30 patients have been taken to five hospitals following an incident at the London Bridge.

Noteworthy, the world leaders have come together to condemn the twin terror attacks in London. UK PM Theresa May has termed the attack as a ‘potential act of terrorism’, whereas, US President Donald Trump has once again pitched for the Muslim travel ban. “We are with you,” he tweeted. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi expressed grief over the incidents and tweeted, “Attacks in London shocking & anguishing. We condemn them. My thoughts are with families of the deceased & prayers with the injured.”

Here are the key developments in London terror attacks:

• Six persons have been killed so far and more than 30 injured when a white van hit several pedestrians on London Bridge. Soon after, three men left the vehicle and stabbed a number of people in Borough Market.
• According to reports, the armed officers confronted and shot three male suspects within eight minutes. Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said: “The suspects were wearing what looked like explosive vests but these were later established to be hoaxes.”
• UK PM Theresa May has called the events a “terrible incident’’ that is being treated as a “potential act of terrorism’’. She will hold an emergency meeting later on Sunday. Meanwhile, the incident is being condemned by leaders all over the world. PM Narendra Modi has called the attacks as shocking and anguishing, whereas, US President Donald Trump tweeted, “We are with you”. French President Emmanuel Macron has also expressed grief over the twin terror attacks in London.
• The Met Police has set up a casualty bureau on 0800 096 1233 and 020 7158 0197 for people concerned about friends or relatives who may be affected. Social networking website Facebook has also activated its safety check feature.
• As per a report, one of the eyewitnesses was quoted as saying that the suspects were shouting “this is for Allah” as they stabbed people indiscriminately at Borough Market.
• London Bridge has been closed in both directions, while neighbouring Southwark Bridge has also been shut. Further closures in Borough High Street, while on the north side of the river, road closures included Lower Thames Street and part of Cannon Street.
• Meanwhile, Japan has issued a travel advisory warning its nationals to avoid places of what it calls potential targets in London, including sightseeing spots, department stores, markets, concert venues and political rallies.

This is the third attack that struck Britain this year. The first incident took place in March where five including a police officer, who was stabbed outside the Parliament, was killed as a vehicle ran over them at Westminster Bridge. The second attack was  on May 22 when a British suicide bomber killed 22 people and injured dozens at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.
