New Delhi: US President Donald Trump warned on Friday, September 12, 2025, that he is losing patience with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump said that Putin has not yet given any indication of stopping his ground attacks or slowing down his air strikes on Ukraine.
In an interview given on Fox News’ programme Fox and Friends, Trump said, “My patience is running out, and it is running out very fast, but it requires the consent of two people. When Putin was ready, Zelensky was not, and when Zelensky was ready, Putin was not. So now we have to take very tough steps.”
Russia said on Friday, September 12, that peace talks with Kyiv are stalled, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, still plans to occupy the whole of Ukraine.
This is a major setback for the diplomatic efforts for the ongoing peace talks on the Ukraine war. Meanwhile, Russia has conducted large-scale military exercises with its key ally Belarus. On the other hand, NATO has announced that it will further increase the deployment of troops on its eastern border after a Russian drone was shot down over Poland.
Due to the mediation of US President Donald Trump, the warring parties came to the table for peace talks, and in the meantime, Trump also hosted Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, USA. But no concrete steps have been taken so far towards ending the war that has been going on since February 2023, which started after Russia invaded Ukraine.
Donald Trump, on Thursday, September 11, expressed concern over the activity of Russian drones near Poland. He said, “They (Russian drones) were shot down, but he (Putin) should not have been near Poland.”
Trump expressed displeasure over the Russian drone incident while speaking to reporters at the White House on Thursday. He said, “It may have happened by mistake, but still, I am not happy with it at all. Hopefully it will end soon.”
