A temporary ban was imposed on the production of non-essential items, beer included, as Mexico announced a health emergency with number of positive cases in the country surging over 1,500. The lager brewer was already facing one of its worst quarters in the last 10 years after pictures were circulated on social media platforms of supermarket shelves filled with Corona beer as fears of the virus with the same name grew among people.
Globally, the COVID-19 has infected at least 10,30,628 people while the death toll has surpassed the 50,000 mark.
