The chief prosecutor of Mexico State says Jilotzingo Mayor Juan Antonio Mayen was killed on a highway by an armed group travelling in a pickup truck. Prosecutor Alejandro Gomez says two other people were killed and two others wounded in the attack on two cars carrying Mayen, other local officials and bodyguards. An assistant prosecutor says there’s evidence that Mayen was linked to local gang whose leader had also been killed recently.
