Islamabad, Nov 4: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight landed midway in Lahore due to low visibility and prompted its passengers to take bus to the destination, reports claimed. Passengers on board the PIA flight claimed that when they protested against the idea, the airline shut the air-conditioners off, leading to suffocation as well.
According to Geo News, the PIA flight was on its way to Rahim Yar Khan from Abu Dhabi, but landed mid-way at Lahore. Claiming low visibility, the aircraft crew reportedly offered to take the passengers on-board by bus to their destination, which the passengers turned down and refused to leave the aircraft.
Reports claimed that to force the passengers out of the aircraft, the crew turned the air-conditioner off, resulting in the suffocation of several passengers, including minors.
However, it is unclear what is the stand of the Airline regarding the allegations. Presently it is unknown if their airline authority will investigate the matter.
Noteworthy that the distance to Rahim Yar Khan from Lahore is roughly around 624 kilometers, that is at least eight to nine hours of travel by road.
As per agency PTI, the passengers asked the aircraft crew to fly them to at least Multan Airport, from where the destination is 292 kilometers.
