New York, September 24: Maleeha Lodhi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations, showed photos of Palestinian victims portraying them as a proof of alleged cruelty on Kashmiris in India. She showed these pictures as a reply to India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s speech at the UN. While showing the pictures of a girl with pellet injuries on the face, Lodhi said that “this was the face of Indian democracy” and said that Kashmiris were injured by pellet guns, reported ANI.

When the picture was closely inspected, it was found that it is a picture of a 17-year-old girl named Rawia Abu Joma’a who was injured in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza city in 2014. The photo was taken by Heidi Levine, an award-winning photographer.

Swaraj questioned what has Pakistan offered to the world its own citizens apart from terrorism and said that India is fighting poverty, but Islamabad is busy in fighting New Delhi.

On Saturday, Sushma Swaraj in her speech at 72nd UNGA session in New York said, “India has risen despite being the principal destination of Pakistan’s nefarious export of terrorism. There have been many governments under many parties during 70 years of Indian freedom, for we have been a sustained democracy. Every government has done its bit for India’s development. We have marched ahead consistently without pause, in education, health and across the range of human welfare. We established scientific and technical institutions which are the pride of the world”.
