In recent decades, air pollution has emerged as a major public health and most pressing environmental concerns. The latest data issued by IQAir has shown health-threatening air quality levels across major cities worldwide, particularly in the Middle East and South Asia.
The data released on October 10 revealed that cities in Middle Eastern countries, such as Baghdad and Iraq, currently rank as the most polluted cities in the globe, with an AQI exceeding 170.
Indian city – Kolkata is in the second spot with PM2.5 concentrations. The city’s AQI is alarming, passing beyond 160. As per AQI it is classified as “unhealthy.”
Pakistan’s Lahore ranks fourth with an AQI of 160, another city Karachi reported 157 AQI.

India’s capital city’s air quality has sharply deteriorated ahead of Diwali. The AQI is reaching an “unhealthy” AQI of 157, according to IQAir.
