St. Petersburg, Russia: Several floors of a university building in Russia’s second-largest city, St. Petersburg collapsed on Saturday evening, as per reports by Associated Press. No immediate reports on casualties are known.
The cause of the collapse is not clear. The floors of the Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics crumbled without a warning. Reportedly, there may have been students in the building for elective weekend instruction.
The school, popularly known as ITMO University, is one of Russia’s National Research Universities.
