Cairo, Nov 19: The Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the Russian airliner which went down last month and said that they had kept a bomb on board of the aircraft in a soda can. The militant organisation made public pictures of the explosives they hid in a soda can along with passports of the dead passengers which were retrieved from the site of crash in the Sinai Peninsula.
The official magazine Dabiq‘s latest edition said that ISIS had initially planned to take down a US-led coalition targeting militants placed in Iraq and Syria. But later changed plans and targeted Russian plane which was departing the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. A total of 224 passengers on board died at the spot on October 31. According to a AFP Report, the English-language magazine read, “After having discovered a way to compromise the security at the Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport and resolving to bring down a plane belonging to a nation in the American-led Western coalition against the Islamic State, the target was changed to a Russian plane. A bomb was smuggled onto the airplane”
Last week, ISIS claimed responsibility for the Paris attack in France that killed 129 and left more than 300 critically injured. France President, Francois Hollande declared war against ISIS and promised to bring down the terror forces. Meanwhile, ISIS declared war against the United States and said that they could be the next victims.
