Republican candidate and former US President Donald Trump won the 2024 US presidential race, defeating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Trump is now receiving congratulatory messages from world leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
However, there is one leader who has no plans to congratulate Donald Trump on his victory. Yes, you read that right—Russian President Vladimir Putin has no intention of extending his congratulations.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that he has no knowledge of any plans by President Putin to congratulate Donald Trump. He said that they are discussing an ‘unfriendly nation’ that has consistently supported Russia’s enemies, both directly and indirectly. Moscow has named more than a dozen countries, including those backing Ukraine in the ongoing conflict.
Peskov stated that the United States always encourages war and becomes involved in conflicts. He added that the US could change its foreign policy, but whether it will do so remains to be seen after Trump takes office in January.
On the other hand, Ukraine President Zelenskyy has congratulated US President Donald Trump for winning the presidential election.
