24th most powerful nation

Saudi Arabia has military ties with United States and China, and is considered close to both global superpowers. As per the Global Firepower 2025 report, Saudi Arabia is ranked 24th in the list of 145 most powerful countries in the world.

The Saudi Arabian army has 257,000 active soldiers, and paramilitary force, which numbers 150,000, an impressive figure for a country which many claim is “dependent” on the US and other allies for its security.

Talking about munitions, Saudi Arabia’s Army has 840 battle tanks, 19,040 military vehicles, 332 self-propelled, and 467 towed artillery pieces.

The Saudi Arabian military is also equipped with 321 rocket launchers, while the Saudi Arabian Air Force has a total of 917 aircraft, which includes 283 fighter jets, 81 attack aircraft, 49 transport aircraft, 22 aerial refuelers, 264 helicopters, and 34 attack helicopters.

The Saudi Arabian Navy is also a strong naval force, boasting a total of 32 ships, including seven warships and nine corvettes. However, the Saudi Arabian Navy does not have submarine yet.
