London, June 8: The voting across the Britain will end at 10 P.M and the first results are expected to come at 11 P.M. In the electoral battle, both parties, the Conservative Party and the Labour Party, are contesting hard to hold keys of 10 Downing Street. While the Theresa May appeared favourite for pollsters across the country, the Labour Party is relying on the charisma of Jeremy Corbyn who proved instrumental in filling the gap of votes between the parties.
In the previous general elections, London was swept away by the Labour party by winning 45 constituencies. The conservative party had to console itself with 26 out of 73 constituencies, the Liberal Democrats managed to win two seats only. The dominance of the Labour party also reflected in the elections for the Mayor of the London where Sadiq Khan, a child of an immigrant Pakistani, was chosen for the post. Although people with links to different countries contributed to the strengthening of democracy in Britain, the election of Sadiq Khan showed the growing influence of the Labour party within the immigrant communities.
The election campaign was marred by the terrorist attacks in Machester and London Bridge, the topic is likely to influence the voters too. However, the pollsters remained confident the attacks will be less importance to voters in comparison with the abolition of tuition fee across the Universities along with National Health Scheme. The results will make clear which party will be negotiating the terms of Brexit at Brussels.
Early exit polls suggested a mild majority for the conservative party while the Labour Party too appeared to snatch the seats from the clutches of the Conservative party.
As per the forecast by University of East Anglia’s Chris Hanretty showed a huge majority for the Conservative Party. The forecast said, “Our current prediction is that there will be a majority for the Conservatives, who will have 371 seats.” The forecast also indicates towards Theresa May help Tories sweeping the North of England and Scotland.
In London, the Conservative Party has a vote share of 46.6 per cent while the Labour Party has a vote share of 38.4 per cent. The other parties has the following vote share. In overall UK Election Results 2017, although the Conservative Party has won a total of 316 seats out of 650 seats in UK Parliament, the party failed to get majority in the elections which has resulted in a hung assembly. The Labour Party has, however, managed 261 seats.
Labour Party candidate Jon Crudass declared victorious from Dagenham and Rainham. He got 22958 votes.

Labour candidate Thangam Debonaire elected from Bristol West by fetching 47213 votes.

Conservative candidate Andrew Bowie declared victorious from WEST ABERDEENSHIRE AND KINCARDINE constituency in Scotland. He got 24704 votes.

Liberal Democrat candidate ED Davey elected from Kingston and Surbiton. He secured 27810 votes.
