Washington DC: In a show of statesmanship, President Joe Biden has extended his congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump, expressing his commitment to a seamless transition of power. Biden emphasized the importance of unity and pledged to work toward bringing the nation together in this pivotal time.

President Joe Biden extended an invitation to President-elect Donald Trump to meet with him at the White House, with staff set to coordinate a specific date in the near future, according to a White House statement. Additionally, Biden spoke by phone with Vice President Kamala Harris, congratulating her on her historic campaign, the statement noted. Biden is scheduled to address the nation on Thursday (local time) to discuss the election results and outline the plans for a smooth transition.

Ro Khanna, a Democrat leader from California expressed his pride on Harris. Sharing a post on X(previously Twitter), Khanna wrote, “Today, I want to say I am proud of Kamala Harris. As a young kid growing up in Bucks County, I would never have imagined an African & Indian American woman would become the nominee & get 48% in PA. Progress is hard. But one day Americans will recognize her blazing a trail.”
