New Delhi, April 16: United States television channel CBS have wrongly published an obituary for former First Lady Barbara Bush, as reported. On Sunday her family spokesperson said that former First Lady is in ‘failing health’. The channel published it on Sunday following reports that the health of Mrs Bush is not good enough. But later it removed the article saying do not publish-former first lady Barbara Bush d*es at age 92 DO NOT PUBLISH. Earlier, a statement was released by the family spokesperson reading that Mrs Bush had undergone series of hospitalisations. She has consulted with her family and doctors and decided not to seek additional medical treatment. She will now focus on comfort care.
As reported, the first lines of the article read, “Barbara Bush, the witty, gregarious matriarch of a political dynasty that propelled two of its members to the White House and dominated Republican politics for decades, has died after a series of recent hospitalizations. She was 92. A Bush family spokesman said Bush passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones.”
Barbara Bush was the 37th First Lady of the United States when her husband, George HW Bush, was President. During her husband’s tern as the vice president, she was also the 33rd Second Lady of the United States. She has six children, including former President George W Bush. During her time as First Lady, Barbara Bush focused on literacy.
