New Delhi: The US Supreme Court has given a big relief to Donald Trump’s government and ordered to limit the powers of lower courts to interfere in government policies.

What did the Supreme Court say?

The Supreme Court, while giving its verdict with a majority of 6-3, said that the federal courts cannot give a big decision on Donald Trump’s government’s decision against giving citizenship on the basis of birth in America. The Donald Trump administration had demanded from the Supreme Court that the federal judges of Maryland, Massachusetts and Washington have stopped the implementation of their order.

The Supreme Court said that the lower courts should review their decisions. The court also said that the Trump government’s decision will not be implemented for 30 days from now.

What did Donald Trump order on US citizenship?

Let us tell you that on the very first day after becoming the President for the second time, Donald Trump had signed many orders. This order was also included in these that no one can be given citizenship here only on the basis of birth in America.

Trump’s order said that for US citizenship, at least one of the child’s parents must be a US citizen or a green card holder. If Donald Trump’s order is implemented, about 1.5 lakh children will be deprived of US citizenship. Against this, Democratic Attorney Generals of many states and lawyers working for immigration officials had approached the court.

Accused of violating 14th Amendment

The Trump administration had said before the Supreme Court that the way federal judges are giving decisions to be implemented across the country is beyond their jurisdiction. Federal judges cannot stop the implementation of the President’s orders. At the same time, other petitioners said that the Donald Trump administration is violating the 14th Amendment. To end slavery in America, a law was made in 1868 that if someone is born in America naturally, he will be given US citizenship. No matter which country they belong to.

This is being considered a big turning point in the history of citizenship in America. Donald Trump says that this law is being misused as according to him, immigrants give birth to children in America to get US citizenship which was being viewed as a big loophole.
