Voronezh Radar: Here are some of the key features
The Voronezh radar is an advanced long-range early warning radar system developed by Russia’s Almaz-Antey Corporation.
Voronezh Radar is capable of detecting threats such as ballistic missiles, fighter jets, and intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) from a range exceeding 8,000 kilometers.
Voronezh Radar has the capability to track over 500 objects simultaneously.
With a total range of up to 10,000 kilometers, it offers an effective vertical range of 8,000 kilometers and a horizontal range of 6,000 kilometers.
According to Russia, this radar can detect stealth aircraft.
It has the capability to monitor near-Earth space objects and provide comprehensive information on intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).
The construction of this radar system will prioritize India’s Make in India initiative, according to a NDTV report. More than 60 percent of the components will be manufactured in India under the deal, with plans to involve Indian companies as offset partners. Last month, a Russian team visited India to discuss potential collaborations with local partners for this project.
