Washington, July 27: The Union Station in Washington has been evacuated due to a bomb threat. The Metro Transit Police has arrived on the spot. All the entrances of the Union State has been sealed off. A high alert has been issued in the vicinity. The bomb disposal squad has arrived on the scene and is probing all suspicion objects.

According to WUSA TV, the bomb alert was issued after a few locals found a suspicious baggage near the Amtrak portion of the station, and subsequently alerted the Metro Transit Police. The K-9 unit of the police has been deployed to assist the investigation. The premises have been completely cordoned off.
